A big-budget production, the play benefited from a $10-million injection from the CHASE Fund.
Levy says her newest production will surpass the high standards that she has come to be known for.
"We are setting a a new benchmark and raising the bar even higher. We have a great team including musicians Michael Sean Harris (a former Little People member) and Jon Williams. We are also very grateful to have been able to acquire the services of Jeremy Thorpe, who comes to us from working with Disney theme parks and productions in Orlando, Florida. What they have put together is simply... magical," she says.
She says the production will also feature deaf performers.
"What we are doing is not being patronising, but rather promoting excellence in our deaf community. This is something we have done from the earliest days of the Cathi Levy Little People and Teen Players Club. We are really promoting the rights of the deaf, and have seen how the deaf can be an inspiration to our team," she says.
Levy says this is not just a show for children, but rather family entertainment and is expecting that 40,000 Jamaicans will come to see the production when it opens.
