National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB), through the NCB Foundation, will award this year's top-three champion boys with a special cash incentive in recognition of their hard work during the The Gleaner's Children's Own Spelling Bee competition.The top-three boys are Christian Allen of Ardenne High School, Stephen Nelson of Glenmuir High School and Rushawn Stewart of Titchfield High School.
"We wanted to do something meaningful for our top-three boys. By awarding them with a total of $100,000 in [color:dd4f=blue !important][color:dd4f=blue !important]scholarship grants, we hope to bolster their confidence through positive reinforcement," said Nadeen Matthews, CEO of the NCB Foundation. "Our [color:dd4f=blue !important][color:dd4f=blue !important]young boys are among the most vulnerable in our country and whatever we can do to encourage them along the right path is an investment that we will happily make," she continued.
NCB is the primary sponsor of the Spelling Bee champion boys, including champions at the parish level; the bank has partnered with The Gleaner's Children's Own Spelling Bee competition for more than 15 years.
