Young businesswoman opens another store in the heart of the city
Less than one year after she opened Soo-Ho Phone Accessories on John's Lane in downtown Kingston, Nadine Allen-Ho is at it again.
This time Allen-Ho has opened a new, trendy boutique at the intersection of Mark Lane and Laws Street in the heart of the city.
Soo-Ho Accessories and Handbags opened its doors two weeks ago, and Allen-Ho says this underscores her faith in downtown Kingston.
"Downtown is not new to me, I have been doing business here for 20 years," an upbeat Allen-Ho declared yesterday.
"Because of the state of the economy, the business is not at its best now, but I know that the customers will come to this store," added Allen-Ho as her arms spread to cover the tastefully laid-out building, which has its address as 74 Laws Street.
Allen-Ho argued that the prices for the bags, accessories, dresses, and other female clothing are very competitive.
"You can get an item from $50 to $2,500, so there is something to meet any pocket."
Allen-Ho had previously told The Gleaner that with the renewal now taking place in downtown Kingston, the time is right for setting up new business.
"When you are operating in the business district in downtown Kingston, it is never a guess that you are going to be successful."
