With the big record label model disintegrating, it has given way to an era of independent artistes and YouTube stars. Ciselle is about to launch Lover's Leap, her freshman EP using American funding platform, Kickstarter. The medium has grown considerably since its inception in 2009.

"My goal is to make a musical statement with this EP. I spent over a year carefully thinking about the sound and feel I wanted for my music," Ciselle told the Jamaica Observer.
"Most importantly, I wanted to show musical growth from my previous releases. I'm proud to say I have written all the music and lyrics on this project," she added.

Ciselle lives in California and recently graduated from the Los Angeles Music Academy, where she was recipient of a scholarship.
She was mentored by multi-Grammy nominee, Tierney Sutton and vocalist extraordinaire Dorian Holley (Michael Jackson, The Tonight Show).
She has presented her dancehall-flavoured style at acclaimed venues such as the House of Blues and Whiskey A Go Go.
Later this month, Ciselle will host a private showcase for Lover's Leap at The Mint in LA.
She describes the EP as urban/pop, with a distinct Jamaican sound. She enlisted Jamaican producer/engineer, Rohan Dwyer, to ensure this and also worked with a team from California spearheaded by Nikhil Korula.
"For me, music is all about a vibe and a sound. Lover's Leap has a crossover/pop sound, but it also has an Island vibe," she revealed.
Ciselle is reaching out to fans to "Join the journey" and support her Kickstarter campaign. Donations can be made on her Kickstarter page and will go toward recording costs and shooting a music video. Backers will receive gifts according to their level of support. These range from special edition CDs, to personally designed stationery.
