Governor-General, Sir Clifford Campbell, GCMF, GCVO, opening the 1969/1970 session of Parliament at Gordon House on Thursday, April 24, 1969.
The Government will further strengthen the forces of law and order to detect subversion and effectively curtail this growing menace in the orderly progress of our society and, the safety and welfare of its citizens.
This is one of the major points made by Governor-General, Clifford Campbell as he delivers the opening speech at the joint meeting of Parliament marking the beginning of the new parliamentary year at Gordon House on Thursday April 24, 1969.
Campbell says the Government is satisfied that one of the root causes of the mounting crimes of violence in the community is an organised plan to use a small group of dissident persons and subversives aimed at creating panic.
