When Meadowbrook High building technology teacher, Orville Heaven, fell ill in class and died, his students were burdened with sorrow.However, their world did not fall apart. That's because of the solid, scholastic foundation built by Heaven, who was a fixture in the Industrial Technology Department for nearly two decades and was its head at the time of his passing.

This academic foundation has transformed the St Andrew-based institution into a Caribbean giant in the area of industrial technology as evidenced by the performance of its students in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination.
Meanwhile, Glenmuir High in Clarendon has pushed its way to the top of [color:9d49=blue !important][color:9d49=blue !important]the [color:9d49=blue !important]island's nearly 200 secondary schools as the CSEC math champion. Not to be outdone, Campion College returns to its position as the top-performing school in CSEC English.
Other schools, particularly among the upgraded high schools, have been making their mark. Their achievements are included in the 2013 edition of Education 20/20 published today with The Gleaner. We salute students, teachers and parents in the quest for excellence in education.
