Hosts exciting launch at overseas collegeIt was quite the culture shock for unsuspecting Centennial College (Toronto) students recently when Dream Entertainment took over their Student Centre in the middle of lunch hour. How often is dancehall blaring in their lunch room and oxtail on the menu?
The event was a launch for Smirnoff Dream Weekend - an event that attracts patrons from all corners of the globe, including Canada.
Students got to see videos and photos of Smirnoff Dream Weekend 2012 and got discounted tickets for 2013.
Two lucky ladies also won free Season Bands as champions of the 'Bruk It Down' contest.
The event was organised by Janice Grant, a Jamaican student at Centennial and ALL SWAG - a student group on campus. Sponsors included the Jamaica Tourist Board.
But it wasn't all fun and games at Centennial as Ron Burke and Scott Dunn, Dream directors, took the opportunity to discuss internship opportunities with Verona Barclay and Shirley Merith, chair and placement director, respectively, of Centennial's hospitality, tourism and culture faculty.
So don't be surprised if in the near future you find a few Canadians interning at Dream Entertainment and enjoying the 10 parties on the six days of Smirnoff Dream Weekend.
