MotherMoulded in her, a seed from above
Of human form with heavenly love
Tended in growth as time moved on
Hailing the issue, a daughter or son
Earthly the issue, though heavenly came
Return thanks to God and praise His name
Moments, days, months, e'en year after year
Offering attention with tenderest care
Though tough the assignment, the joy will remain
Her heart sings a song with a solemn refrain
Engaged in direction with thoughts from above
Return thanks to God, for therein is love
Many the times her heart sinks with sorrow
Occasioned today and lingers tomorrow
Then with a voice that's laden with care
Heard from aloft her burdens to share
Ever to listen the problems to mend
Return thanks to God, for He is a friend
Mother, mama, mom - we hear when you call
Oftimes from danger, lest therein we fall
Trusting your wisdom, and moving ahead
Heard was your counsel by which we're led
Embraced we with love to show to each other
Return thanks to God, for being a Mother
- Edward G. Dawes
Reminiscences of mother
If I seat myself upon my cushion, it is at her side; If I sing, it is to her ear;
If I walk the walls of the meadows, my little hand is in my mother's, and my little feet keep company with hers;
If I stand and listen to the piano, it is because my mother's fingers touch the keys;
If I survey the wonders of creation, it is my mother who points out the object of my admiring attention;
If a hundred cannons pronounce a national salute, I find myself clinging to her knees;
when my heart pounds with it's best joy, it is because, at the performance of some task or the recitation of some verses, I receive a present from her hand.

Mother's Day
Things I cannot remember
Histories I cannot unwrite
Future is unsure ...
This day, Oh Lord,
Save and spare
My Mother's life
Revive, heal, recover
Her broken frame
To walk and talk
And sing of Your glory
In this life
In this here and now
