I am having a Pink Lady cocktail.
What's in it?
Apricot Brandy, Grenadine, egg white, lime juice and kiwi for garnish.
What kind of day are you having?
Fabulous! I'm in Jamaica; it's very peaceful and I'm around beautiful people.
Jeans or LBD?
Definitely LBD.
Flats or stilettos?
Stilettos, very mysterious.
Who does your hair?
Whoever I can get into my schedule.
Who does your nails?
I own a spa, so all my manicurists take care of my nails.
What perfume are you wearing?
Chanel Mademoiselle.
What are your travel essentials?
I must have a black dress, a black blazer, anything that can transform me from night to day, party to cocktail to professional to ready-to-wear.
How would you describe your personal style?
Luxury but conservative; chic but elegant.
Are you a romantic-comedy or action-adventure type of gal?
I would say I'm a little bit of both; I love adventure, but I also love to be romantic.
What bad habit would you most like to put in your rear-view mirror?
I like to be in control, so I need to be able to let go.
Who inspires you?
My mom. She's very strong; also, she's been through a lot. She lost two children and a husband, but she has continued on and not let it bring her down. I want to be like her; no matter what happened in her life, she continued to move forward.
What is your idea of the perfect date?
Being able to go to a lovely dinner where you're able to communicate openly, and walking on the beach under the moonlight. Also, being in a setting where you can be yourself and not have to be pretentious.
How did you get into this field?
Actually, I started painting my dolls. I grew up in a very white neighbourhood and I wanted to have a black doll, so I started painting their faces. I wanted a doll that I could relate to, and from there I started painting women's faces.
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I would like to retire, but I'm in the process of expanding my spa (XES Spa Lounge) and my brand. I would like to bring it not only to the USA but also to the Caribbean and globally.
What is it about women and hair?
Some women believe that with more hair the more powerful they are. Some women believe hair defines their beauty. Some women believe the longer the hair the more beautiful they are. For me, personally, I believe in loving the skin you are in and being comfortable with what you were born with. However, if you use hair to enhance your beauty, so be it, but don't let that define who you are.
Can a woman have it all?
Yes, most definitely. If she follows her dreams and believes she can achieve anything, she can.
