"It's a dream come true. It's amazing," he gushed.
Wyre is being hosted by Donisha Prendergast, granddaughter of Bob and Rita Marley. She made the link with the popular Kenyan act following her '50 Days in Africa' pilgrimage last year.
"Through networking I met with his management and discussed me directing the video for the song Nakumpenda Pia by Wyre and Alaine. They loved my treatment and here we are," said Prendergast.
Wyre said he is a fan of Alaine and sent her the idea for the collaboration.
"She (Alaine) is huge in Africa. A few months ago she was the main act for a concert in Nairobi and the crowd was massive. I opened for her then."
He explained that reggae and dancehall music is experiencing a boom in Africa with a number of the younger acts making the biggest impact.
"Some of the most successful concerts in Africa at this time are the reggae and dancehall shows. Artistes such as Ce'Cile, Konshens, Richie Spice, Turbulence, Mavado and Tarrus (Riley) are extremely popular and their shows are sold out. Tarrus was recently in Kenya and I also opened for him.".
