The city of Montego Bay is poised to sizzle tonight as the bi-annual Off Tha Wall Retro Party takes centrestage at the scenic Pier One Complex on the
The party is expected to attract both local and overseas patrons. Among the latter are those who are known to make the trip from the United States to renew old acquaintances and to soak up the party hits from the 1970s, '80s and '90s in an atmosphere of fun and frolic.
"The buzz is everywhere as usual," said businessman Nash Lawson, CEO of After 10 Promotions, promoters of the event named after Michael Jackson's hit song. "As usual, we are expecting a night of total fun."
While the party is billed as an oldies event, in recent years, it has been pulling in a noticeable number of youthful revellers. "It is really nice to have the youngsters as they get a chance to experience the music their parents grew up enjoying," Lawson said. "It is really education for the youngsters because what we are doing is exposing them to the of the '70s, '80s and '90s."

Once again, Lawson, who operated under the moniker DJ Turbo in his days as a top-flight selector in 1989 and the '90s, has secured the services of top radio deejays DJ Marvin and Donovan Dacres of FAME FM to share the control tower with him.
"I can promise you that it is going to be non-stop juggling," said Lawson, who has branded tonight's edition of Off Tha Wall the 'Music Trance Edition'.
Off Tha Wall has attracted sponsorship from Stone's Ginger Wine and Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum. As they have been doing in recent years, the sponsors will be providing patrons with special liquor deals throughout the night to ensure that the happy spirit is constant.
"We have never had any problems with people getting intoxicated. Off Tha Wall fans know how to behave themselves," said Lawson. "We are all about unity, fun, and enjoyment."
As usual, for the party series, the will once again be transformed into a setting, inclusive of elegantly decorated walls as well as spotlight and disco lights, among other party attractions.
"Hopefully, the weather will be good because if it is, we should have the moon smiling down at us," Lawson said.
