Curtis Campbell, Gleaner WriterMedia personality Oral Tracey and Out Box Entertainment are getting ready to 'Let Loose' for a second time. The 2013 staging of the comedy show with that name is slated for The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, New Kingston, on Sunday, August 4.
The first event took place at Theatre Place, New Kingston, in December 2012. Based on its success, the comedic commentator has decided to 'Let Loose' again.
According to Tracey, the event will deliver a unique and fresh form of entertainment. Patrons can expect a special package for the season, he said, hence its theme, 'The Edition'.
"Oral Tracey Let Loose, live on- stage, is a concept originated from my burning desire to talk my mind on all issues - not just sport, but just letting my thoughts loose on all and other issues. The Summer Edition speaks for itself. It is right smack in the middle of the summer holiday," he said.
Joining Tracey on stage will be Simon Croskill, making his stand-up comedy debut, Ity and Fancy Cat, Professor Nuts, Dr Michael Abrahams, veteran reggae artiste Pinchers, Lenya Wilks, and Sean the Magician. The show runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Thought-provoking matters
According to the man known to stir controversy during his commentary segment on national free-to-air television, Let Loose will see him dabbling into thought-provoking matters.
"The theme for my time onstage as the host and Let Loose instigator will be that I don't just come to give joke. I come to provoke. I don't want this show to be put in a box or classified as this kind of show or that kind of show. As it continues to evolve, I want it to maintain its unpredictable edge, while still being an appealing look for everyone," he said.
Last November, Tracey had said much of his thoughts were not expressed during his air time of a mere three minutes. The sports commentator/comedian told The Gleaner he hopes to host the event every three months at different locations across .
"Expect a bigger and better Let Loose, compared to the first one. 'The Summer Edition' on Sunday August 4, 2013, will showcase bigger star in terms of my guest performers. People know they can always expect the unexpected from me. The venue is one of prestige and carries a great ambience. We have first-class support services and a secured parking area. Without a doubt, this will be the best look for the summer as a different and unique family-friendly event for all Jamaicans and, indeed, visitors to the island who will be here for the summer," Tracey said.
He said tickets will be affordable and potential patrons will be informed about cost and outlets as time progresses.
Out Box Entertainment is just putting promotions for the event into full gear. However, Tracey said things are already looking positive.
"People who went to first edition are asking for the next one, and those who missed the first one don't want to miss this one. The suspense is building, especially now with the release of the special guest list ... response 'maddd'," he said.
