Sharon Wint-Levy applies BB cream to Chayenne Johnson

These beauty balms made their way to our shores late last year, and have gained tremendous popularity. Brands such as MAC, Maybelline, Iman and Garnier have been flying off the shelves of [color:998a=blue !important][color:998a=blue !important]cosmetic stores in the Corporate Area.
A BB cream is a tinted [color:998a=blue !important][color:998a=blue !important]moisturiser that rejuvenates, protects and gives the [color:998a=blue !important][color:998a=blue !important]skin a radiant glow. While some foundations may contain [color:998a=blue !important][color:998a=blue !important]SPF, it may not be enough to protect the skin from the harmful rays of the sun as summer approaches. This is where the BB cream comes in. It gives you the added protection and it can be used on its own as a foundation, or as a primer.
According to Sharon Wint-Levy, director of Face Forward Cosmetics and Swimwear, "The BB cream is very popular, and once something is new, persons gravitate towards it, like any new make-up product, but there is definitely a buzz around the BB cream. We have been testing them in our store and, so far, it has been doing well. Iman is the brand we carry, and already, the brand has run out of stock two months after putting the product on the market. So we have to wait to restock our shelves."
She explains, "BB Cream is a tinted cream for the skin. It evens, smoothes and balances the skin, while protecting it from the sun, because it contains SPF. It has a little tint in it so it is ideally for those who do not like heavy make-up."
And application is super easy. "The BB Cream is liquid, so it is simple to apply. It takes up to three minutes to apply and all you need is your fingertips. You can wear it under your make-up or on its own and for a matte finish you can dust a bit of loose powder over it."
The Iman brand comes in sand light, sand medium, clay medium, clay medium deep, earth medium and earth deep.
According to sales representative Natalie Thomas at anne martin, BB Cream is a moisturiser foundation. "While it will not give you much coverage, if you do not want to wear foundation, you can wear it by itself, or with powder."
anne martin has also been seeing very good sales in the Maybelline brand that they carry in medium/deep sheer tint and deep sheer tint.
