I'm not a drinker, but I think Grey Goose and freshly squeezed grapefruit is a perfect mix. I recently discovered that lime juice and cane juice on crushed ice is also a perfect mix. Today, I want to introduce tofu steak with rum-flavoured shrimp. It is a match made in heaven. It is the easiest of all the recipes I have introduced or perhaps neck to neck with tofu and okra mix.
Like other perfect 'mixes', you are not doing much work. All you need to cook is the tofu steak, which is extremely easy. Rum-flavoured shrimp is ready made. I buy them from Mama Lu. It is like pepper shrimp but it is not hot. It has rum, ginger and it is slightly sweet. You need to order these shrimp by Thursday and they are delivered to your door on Friday. Check out Mama Lu on Facebook.
Those hard tofu usually sold in supermarkets are great for steak. It is firm, succulent and it is not so watery like silk. So when you eat, it really feels like steak.
Tofu steak with rum-flavoured shrimp is an ultimate healthy fast food. Try it this week!!

Recipe
A pack of hard tofu
12 rum-flavoured shrimp (Mama Lu)
2 tbs soy sauce (Kikkoman brand
recommended)
2 slices of sweet red pepper
(for garnish)
1tbs cooking oil
1tbs of good quality sesame oil
Salt and pepper
Instructions
Slice hard tofu into four. Season with pinch of salt and pepper (both sides). Put flour on both sides.
Pour cooking oil and sesame oil into frying pan and turn heat to high. (You can do this process without sesame oil, which means you use two tablespoons of cooking oil, but I prefer to use sesame oil as it gives a crispy taste and colour).
Cook tofu for two minutes, both sides, until golden brown.
Place two slices of tofu steak on a plate and dress them with half tablespoon of soy sauce each. Then put six rum-flavoured shrimps on top. Make sure you pour all the rum sauce over the steak. Garnish with red sweet pepper.
