In June 2005, I was recruited by Zachary Harding whom I worked with previously at Diageo. He was in the process of reorganising the marketing team structure and I officially joined in July of that same year. In 2011, Wisynco recorded an 11 per cent compounded rate per annum growth over the past few years, impacting the demand on our management team correspondingly; resulting in the decision of the board to reassign our directors and our management team to continue to grow the business. In that reorganisation, I was offered the new position of brand manager for Boom Energy Drink and corporate communications manager.

How long have you had this job?
I've been at Wisynco since July 2005, in two previous positions as advertising and public relations manager and sponsorship and public relations manager, and have been in my current position since August 2011.
What's great about your job?
Confucius said, Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life! I love working at Wisynco; it's been an awesome place of higher learning for me. Off the bat I would highlight two things: (1) working with a results-oriented and dedicated team spearheaded by directors who give us (the staff) the freedom to succeed, and (2) the way we strategise and develop brand plans to serve the core stakeholders of our business, who are our customers and consumers!
The Boom marketing team, in particular, is very connected to our consumers and customers because we do frequent trade activities and trade visits, which pretty much means going on the road to meet our customers and consumers and learning about their issues and needs on an intimate level, or learning just whatever it takes to make them happy. If our customers and consumers are happy, we are happier! This particular aspect of the job is great for us because, apart from giving us insight about our customers' and consumers' demands and issues, it is truly an awesome and rewarding personal experience. I pride myself on being a brand manager who delivers on the expectations of my customers and consumers.
I cannot be everywhere, every day, but I feel that way because I am supported by an awesome team of line-backers: Keteisha McCulloch, Chieftin Campbell, Khamal Mullings, Kyle Campbell, my promotional team and our kick-butt sales force!
Tell us something we might not know about Boom.
Boom is manufactured and distributed by Wisynco Group Limited here in Jamaica! It is Jamaica's first and only energy drink, formulated, tested and approved in-house by our very own staff. Another fact that I'd like to share with Jamaica is that similar to other energy drinks that are packaged in tins to protect the sensitive vitamins from sunlight, Boom Energy Drink is packaged in a black (polyethylene terephthalate) PET bottle for the same reason. Using a black PET bottle allows us to offer the best value for our consumers' money.
Why is Boom so attractive to customers?
I would say without reservation that there are three things that have made this product so popular and in high demand.
1) The cost: let me expound by adding that being locally produced, we have not in any way, shape or form, compromised on the quality and effectiveness of the product and have managed to, since its introduction to the market in July 2010, continuously pass on immeasurable savings to our Jamaican people.
(2) The energy boost and quality: we have been told many times that our product tastes really good and delivers on the energy boost promise. Most will tell you as well that they love the "mysterious" look created by the colour of the bottle and the "vibes" of the brand.
