Goddard Enterprises Limited has named Anthony Ali as the new [b style="color: blue !important; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: 700; position: static;"]chief executive officer (CEO), effective August 1.He takes charge of the regional conglomerate in the wake of the retirement of former [b style="color: blue !important; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: 700; position: static;"]CEO[/b] Martin Pritchard.[/b]
Goddard is a Barbados-based operation with businesses spanning Caribbean, Latin American and North American markets.
Its holdings in Jamaica include Nissan car dealership, Fidelity Motors, and airline catering operation Goddard Catering Jamaica - formerly Versair In-flite Services before its rebranding two years ago in April 2011.
Ali is a Trinidadian whose track record includes international exposure in sectors spanning retail, manufacturing and energy, Goddard said.
"My focus is on growth, profitability and delivering on key performance metrics by aligning sales, marketing, and operational excellence with the development of a strategic road map, and engaging our employees," said Ali, quoted in a statement issued Monday by Goddard.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Goddard Enterprises was founded in 1921 as a small shop in Bridgetown. It is now a diversified conglomerate listed on the Barbados stock exchange and whose businesses span 22 countries in the western hemisphere.
