Digicel fêtes three lucky Facebook fans to lunch and treats
August 21, marks the birthdate of Digicel Brand Ambassador Usain Bolt. While he was busy training on his special day, three lucky Digicel Facebook fans were receiving a birthday treat like no other.
Jeremy Brown, Samantha Morgan and Racquel Reid, who all share the birthdate with the athletics superstar were the winners of the Digicel Facebook Usain Birthday Surprise. The lucky winners received a grand lunch at Tracks and Records, call credit and special Bolt memorabilia.
Racquel Reid was all smiles while she ordered her appetizer. She mentioned that just last week she told her college-mate, who is a friend of Usain, that he should arrange for her to meet him as a birthday gift. "So to have lunch at Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records on my birthday courtesy of his corporate sponsor was the next best thing and I am very happy." Racquel's partner, Steve Simpson said that this surprise is definitely a great addition to what he has planned for her later.
Senior communications manager, Shelly-Ann Harris, who stopped by to wish the lucky winners, happy birthday said that, "Digicel is a brand that loves to celebrate its customers and this is just one of the many ways that we thank them for their continued loyalty. Plus our fans on social media love Usain so we thought it would be cool to grant those who shared this special day with him, a birthday treat."
Samantha Morgan, who was celebrating her 24th birthday was beyond ecstatic. "It's my first time here so this is a really great birthday present from Digicel." She went on to mention that she was having a hard time deciding what would be her birthday meal as there were so many choices. Sharing in the moment with her was her favourite beau, Damion Segree. He was very tight-lipped about his plans for Samantha, only letting on that he would be taking her out.
Jeremy Brown, who didn't look a day over 25 only laughed out loud when asked his age. While Jeremy was busy figuring out his drink order, his girlfriend Monique Easy told us that she was the one that actually sent the winning email on his behalf. "It's really cool that he won, I was actually planning to take him to Tracks and Records for dinner later so thanks Digicel."
Digicel has been a proud sponsor of Usain Bolt since 2003. In addition to the Facebook surprise, the telecoms group also shared a fabulous birthday cake with every patron at Tracks and Records in honour of the brand ambassador's special day.
