While the American and Eurocentric cultures may be filled with celebrities and other high-profile persons going under the knife to safeguard that youthful look for a few more years, Jamaicans can pride themselves on being absent from that bandwagon ... well, at least some of us can.
A little nip here, a tuck there, or a little botox to get rid of that unnecessary wrinkle ... cosmetic surgery has become so pervasive in our society these days. However, in Jamaica, people pride themselves on being able to look good and age gracefully while remaining in the public eye. Here is the Flair's list of the male celebs that have been drinking from the fountain of youth.
Neville Bell
Many of us are used to waking up to his antics with 'His Bonafide' Simon Crosskill for years now, but with a career in media that started more than two decades ago, the football lover has managed to not age a bit. Could it be the football or the presence of his lovely morning-time co-host Yendi Phillipps?
P.J. Patterson
Just shy of 80 years old, the former prime minister looks nowhere near his 78 years in existence. Serving as Jamaica's sixth prime minister from 1992-2006 clearly had its perks. The former politician still looks the same as when he went into office.
Michael Lee-Chin
Who would have thought that Michael Lee-Chin was anywhere near 62 years of age. It is quite clear that having a multibillion-dollar empire is anything but stressful.
Sean Paul
Get outta here! Sean Paul is 40. Check back to his Gimme Di Light days and the dancehall superstar still looks pretty young. It can either be the new wife, his long-time belle, Jodi 'Jinx' Henriques - or its all that cycling that he loves to do. Whichever it is, it's time for you to sign up!
Beenie Man
Beenie Man has been the The Girls Dem Sugar for the longest while, and the entertainer, at 39, is already a grandfather. Still fit as a fiddle, the dancehall king seems to still be giving these young artistes a run for their money in the youthful-looks department.
K.D. Knight
This man has simply stopped ageing. He has the same features from as way back as one can remember.
Michael Anthony Cuffe Sr
From that morning show in the '90s to his Broadbent ads plastered everywhere, this memorable journalist has surely taken care of himself. From his voice to his looks, the senior Cuffe, hopefully, has passed on that youthful gene to his offsprings.
Shaggy
Mr Boombastic, at 44, still knows how to work his waistline, a thing these younger entertainers could learn from the veteran. Like fine wine, Shaggy just seems to get better with age.
Tony Matterhorn
When you can manage to pull yourself away from his ranting and raving it will then hit you that deejay Tony Matterhorn is actually 41 years old. We didn't think about that one at all!
Professor Nuts
At 51 years old, this dancehall veteran continues to be a treat. He's as young as they come.
Kiprich
Kiprich has been in the entertainment business for more than 15 years now, but yet he still manages to keep his boyish good looks. The body has developed (muscles and all) and the face is as youthful as ever.
Cham
At 34 years old, we don't need to ask what keeps this entertainer young, fresh and relevant. All we have to say is that it "tun up, tun up".
Bounty Killer
Bounty Killer has gone through a series of identity crisis from Bounty Killa, to War Lord, Poor People Defender to Killa to Grung Gad, but in all of this soul searching, the entertainer has managed to keep his youthfulness at 41 years old.
