Clearly, Vauxhall does not have the resources, whether financial or otherwise, that the core traditional high schools have. However, its students are equally talented.
Kudos must be given to Vauxhall and all other non-traditional high schools which continue to perform at world-class levels despite the obvious challenges. I salute the entire Vauxhall family, the principal, the school board, the parent-teacher association, teachers, past and present students.
Let's use the achievement attained by young Timar Jackson as a building block, a fillip, a new beginning, to achieve better education output. The teachers and administrators in other schools should take note. That which was once thought unachievable is, indeed, achievable!
The Government, via the Ministry of Education, should appoint Mr Jackson a spokesperson or advocate for non-traditional schools. He should be given the platform to share his story in every nook and cranny of this country.
I salute you, Timar Jackson, and the entire Vauxhall community.
