Popular sports bar and grill Ribbiz recently celebrated its first anniversary in the form of a treat for customers. Ribbiz team member Kamal Bankay says the year has been positive.
Decorated with flags representing the countries that participated in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Bankay said Ribbiz was the Mecca for football lovers during the season. He also said now that World Cup has concluded, Ribbiz will focus on delivering quality entertainment and food during the summer season.
"It was an excellent year and I feel truly honoured that Jamaicans and persons from the diaspora choose Ribbiz as the number one bar, ultra lounge, and restaurant when they are in Kingston. Our food and beverage are number one and our customers are the best," he said, adding, "We have great mixologists and bartenders, and they greet you with a smile seven days of the week. We also received a food award nomination for our food, and that is pretty good."
The celebration saw the DJ playing a variety of genres, including hip hop, reggae, dancehall and electronic dance music (EDM), and customers treated to slices of the celebratory cake courtesy of Nadeen Lazarus, as well as finger foods, which were, of course, on the house.
Bankay also disclosed that Ribbiz would be hosting special events during the Independence and Emancipation celebrations this summer, as well as its regular events, EDM Saturdays and Fantastic Fridays.
