A murder investigation is underway after a man was spotted trying to hide a body in the Thames at Deptford Creek in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to the south London area, not far from Lewisham, where they stopped a car in nearby Evelyn Street. Inside, they found the body of a young man, thought to be in his 20s.
The victim had serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a man in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody at a south London police station.
Police think the victim and suspect were related.

A woman was arrested in Thornton Heath this morning in connection with the incident.
