UP-AND-COMING rapper Jadda said although he was born in Brooklyn, New York, he doesn't stay far from his Jamaican roots.
"I do not hesitate to show my roots in my material and allow my listeners to know me on a conscious level," he said.
The 23-year-old, whose given name is Norman Adams Jr, is currently in the island promoting his latest singles No Take Check, In the Sun, Don't Worry, and Old Time Sake.
Jadda told the Observer he wants to build a fan base in Jamaica.
"I am really hoping that I can achieve this via my upcoming performance on Magnum Sting. I know the crowd is really a dancehall one but I think they will embrace me as my lyrics are catchy and witty," he said.
Born to Jamaican parents, Jadda said he makes frequents trips to Jamaica and lists Garnet Silk, Beres, and Sizzla as three of his favourite dancehall/reggae acts.
