A body has been found in the search for missing Coronation Street actor Trevor Smith.
The 42-year-old, who is originally from Middleton, was last seen at his home in Wirksworth, Derbyshire, on Monday night.
Derbyshire Police yesterday had issued an urgent appeal to find the experienced actor after his sudden disappearance.
But tonight the force revealed that a man’s body had tragically been found in a quarry their officers and was believed to be that of the TV performer.
The discovery is not being treated as suspicious.
Trevor, who also went by the surname Hancock, was described as having plaster casts on both his wrists when he was reported missing by concerned relatives shortly before 10pm on Monday.
He had been a professional actor since 1991 and trained at Manchester’s Arden School of Theatre from 1996 to 1999.
