While appearing on "Hannity" Tuesday, former senator Rick Santorum shared that he is "seriously" looking into running for president in 2016.
"Well, I'm seriously looking at it Sean," Santorum said. "Obviously, we've got a lot of things that I think are very, very important to this country. We need a candidate in 2016 that's going to unite America."
Santorum added that he feels that this country is more divided now than any other time in terms of the president in office. He said that the new president needs to be able to truly unify the country.
"We need someone who has a message, and can unify this country and that can start getting things done that's going to help average ordinary working Americans have a better opportunity at their lives," Santorum shared.
Hannity explained to Santorum that there is a divide between Tea Party Republicans and moderate Republicans that House Speaker John Boehner needs to bridge.
"I think we have to be positive, we have to have a message out there that you know not only unites Republicans, moderate Republicans with Tea Party Republicans, but can bring even some Democrat votes," Santorum said.
Santorum, who previously ran for president in 2012 and lost the Republican nomination to Mitt Romney, also shared how he plans to separate himself from other Republican contenders.
