EMOTIONAL support is crucial for parents of autistic children, and it is with this premise that mother of one Kathy Chang and another parent started the Jamaica Autism Support Association (JASA) over four years ago.
The group started with about five parents of autistic children who would meet up to share some of their challenges in raising their kids. The group now consists of over 100 parents, caregivers and professionals who meet every last Saturday at the YMCA to encourage and support each other.
