Prep your skin – At least a couple of weeks prior to heading away, if you’re serious about getting (and keeping) a golden tan, you’ll have to start prepping your skin. Exfoliate a couple of times a week to ensure that your skin is smooth and soft
and make sure you moisturise religiously
Wear suncream – As much as you might think wearing suncream will stop you from tanning, it won’t. When abroad you’ll need at least a factor 25 suncream and even then you might still burn. Be diligent in reapplying – you don’t want to burn, as burning leads to peeling which will kiss your tan goodbye.
Use aftersun – Using aftersun is SO important in keeping your skin healthy and stopping your tan from drying out and peeling, leading it to fade. An aloe vera aftersun is great as it will cool and calm the skin whilst healing it. Make sure you use aftersun every evening after sunbathing, whether you are burnt or not.
even whilst you’re away, you’ll need to moisturise your skin religiously, morning and night. Dry skin is what leads to a fading tan so make sure you keep it as hydrated as possible.
If all else fails, fake it – We really don’t believe you can beat fake tan, so if your tan does start to fade and it’s getting you down, invest in a false tanner to get your skin back to its glowing best.
Bronze up – As well as using a false tan to build your glow back up, remember that bronzers and highlighters can give you a gorgeous glow without having to even step out into the sun. Use a bronzer to help contour your face and give the illusion of thoroughly sunkissed skin.
