A 21 year old Jamaican born student who has been described as an overachieving athlete was found dead on Saturday in a New York City Hotel according to reports.
Sabrina Cammock, a 21-year-old senior of Syracuse University was on spring break with friends when she died.
Sabrina and friends went out on Friday night before returning to their room at the Edison Hotel, 228 W. 47th St and went to sleep.
According to the New York Daily News, the senior track star never woke up.
She was found in her bed. These cause of her death has not yet been ascertained.
There were no signs of trauma on Cammock’s body, according to police sources.
No drugs were found in the room to suggest an overdose, the officials said.
An autopsy was carried out on Sunday but the results were awaiting further studies, medical examiners’ spokeswoman Julie Bolcer said.
Cammock hails from Watt Town in St Ann and attended the Bethany Primary School near Alexandria in the parish. She left Jamaica after completing Grade Six for the United States.
