Paul Moodie and his wife, Juliet Rothery-Moodie, still sit at home hoping that one day their daughter, Tashika, will walk back through the door.
Despite the years, it seemed like yesterday, as each anniversary brings with it a flood of emotions.
Two missing children found dead in Trelawny July 2014
The search is now over for two children who went missing after leaving home for a beach trip on Sunday.
According to a report by Irie FM, the bodies of 2 children were found in a section of the Martha Brae River in Trelawny this morning (July 15, 2014), pulling a massive crowd behind police cordon.
Police have confirmed that the bodies are that of 10 year old Maleeka Mitchell and 12 year old Omari Sterling of Paradise Norwood, St James, who went missing on Sunday after leaving home to go to the One Man Beach in the parish.
They were in the company of other children and taken to the beach by a man from their community.
There were scenes of anguish where the bodies of 2 children were found in a section of the Martha Brae River, about a mile off the Hague Main Road, near Falmouth, Trelawny.
The mothers of both children arrived on the scene, where Omari’s mom fainted.
It is reported that the bodies of the children were discovered naked.
The police say an on spot post mortem will be conducted later today (July 15) to determine the cause of death.
Body of 3-Year-Old Girl Found in St Ann With Chop Wounds

Residents of Orange Hill, St Ann on Sunday morning, July 10 reportedly discovered the body of a three-year-old girl who went missing from her home in the area on Saturday night.
The identity of the child has not been made public as crime scene investigators continue to process the scene.
Thorough searches of the area were reportedly conducted Saturday night into early this morning, where her body was found in bushes.
The child reportedly had several chop wounds over sections of her body.

MISSING: 29-Yr-Old Mother and Daughter 2017
A 29-year-old mother and her daughter have been missing for several days according to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
A statement released by the JCF on Wednesday (February 1) reads:
“Twenty-nine-year-old Simone Francis and her 4-year-old daughter Alexandria Reid, both of Waltham Park Road, Kingston 11 have been missing since Sunday, January 29.
Francis is of dark complexion, medium build and is about 160 centimetres (5 feet 3 inches) tall and Alexandria is of brown complexion, slim build and is about 91 centimetres (3 feet) tall.
Reports from the Olympic Gardens Police are that bout 7:45 p.m., Francis and Alexandria were last seen at home. Francis was dressed in a grey pants, blue blouse and pair of slippers while Alexandria was dressed in a grey pants, blue and white blouse and a pair of shoes. They have not been heard from since.

Police in Alexandria say that Tresique was last seen in Alva district in the parish at about 3:00 p.m., wearing a white blouse, a grey tunic and a pair of black shoes and socks.

Reports are that Samantha left home for school about 10 am and has not been seen or heard from since.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a decomposing body found with the throat slashed is believed to be that of 17-year-old Stefika Smith, who is a resident of Strawberry Hill district in Four Paths, Clarendon.
She was reported missing since Saturday, May 11.

14-year-old child’s body found burnt, dumped in Arnett Gardens
The nation is still trying to come to terms with the recent gory rape, murder and torching of the body of 14-year-old Kingston Technical High School student, Yetanya Francis, otherwise called ‘Princess’, in her community of Arnett Gardens, also called ‘Concrete Jungle’, in South St Andrew.
The body of the child, who went missing on the night of Thursday, August 23, was found the following day relatively near to where she lived on Tenth Street in the community.
The horrific murder came a year after 17-year-old Meadowbrook High School student, Michelle Moulton, of Tenth Street, ‘Zimbabwe’ in the same Arnett Gardens community, was shot through her bedroom window, along with her 12-year-old sister.
They were taken to hospital, where Michelle was pronounced dead and her sister was treated for her injuries.
There were reports that Michelle was killed because she had spurned sexual advances from men in the community. Reports to that effect led to aggression against her family, and they reportedly left the community in fear of their lives.

She has been missing since Tuesday, September 25.

The Kingston Western Police are probing the murder of a 14 year-old girl in Arnett Gardens.
The burnt remains of Yetanya Francis, otherwise known as Princess, were found behind a church Friday morning, hours after she went missing.
Shortly after 9 o'clock Thursday night, the teenager went to a nearby shop to purchase food.
When she did not return, her family carried out a search.

Mourning another underage girl who has been found dead. The child, Jameila Johnson, also known as 'Zella' -- a 12-year-old student of the Harewood Primary School in St Catherine -- was found dead in bushes close to a river near her home in Williamsfield, near Riversdale in the parish, yesterday. There were unconfirmed reports yesterday that the child was pregnant. According to the Ministry of Education, the child's parents reported that she went missing Tuesday night after she asked her grandmother for toilet paper and proceeded to the outdoor pit latrine. a group of angry residents, after learning about the little girl's death, went to her family's home and set the house on fire. The child's mother and grandmother were also attacked by the mob and had to be escorted from the community by the police. The group claimed that it was neglect by the family that led to the child's death. Because of the attack reporters did not get a chance to speak to Jameila's family members.

He said guidance counsellors from the ministry's regional office will provide grief and trauma sessions to the affected students and staff at Harewood Primary. Gregory Mair, the MP for North East St Catherine -- where Harewood is located -- said yesterday that he was shocked and saddened by the news of Jamilia death. The MP said that since Jamilia disappeared Tuesday night residents started searching for her, only to stumble on her nude body yesterday morning. Mair asked residents to give their full support to the police "so they can carry out a thorough investigation and bring the culprit of this heinous crime to justice". The MP said he was in touch with the Office of the Children's Advocate and Youth Minister Lisa Hanna on the matter.
Two OTHER underage girls have, since January, suffered similar fates. Santoya Campbell, a 14-year-old Westmoreland girl, went missing on January 26 and her body was found, two days later, stuffed in garbage bags under a bridge. According to grief-stricken relatives, Santoya, who was a grade eight student of Frome Technical High, did not reach school after leaving her home early the morning she went missing. Following a post-mortem it was found out that Santoya was pregnant.
Similarly, another 14-year-old girl, identified as Kayalicia Simpson of St Thomas, was hacked to death and her mutilated body dumped metres from her house on March 3. Police reported that about 5:00 am that day, the grade eight student went outside her house as she prepared for school. About half-an-hour later her body was found lying face down in bushes close to the one-room wooden structure in which she lived.
Like Santoya, a post-mortem report revealed that Kayalicia was pregnant.

The Office of the Children's Registry (OCR) is reporting a 90 per cent recovery rate for missing children over the past three years through the Ananda Alert system.
Data provided by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) Missing Persons Monitoring Unit show that for January to December 2015, some 1,941 children (1,533 females and 408 males) were reported missing, and of that number, 1,739 were recovered.
In an interview with JIS News, Head of the Ananda Alert Secretariat, Nathalee Ferguson, noted that children between 14 and 17 years old are often reported missing during holidays and following popular events frequented by young persons.
