Jamaica's Carlton Baugh Jr hits the winning run as the Combined Campuses and Colleges wicketkeeper, Chadwick Walton, looks on, during third-day action in the WICB Four-Day Tournament at Sabina Park yesterday. Jamaica won by five wickets.-Ricardo Makyn/Staff Photographer

Jermaine Lannaman, Gleaner WriterLeft-arm spinner Nikita Miller produced yet another Man-of-the-Match performance to guide Jamaica to a five-wicket win over the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) inside three days at Sabina Park yesterday.
Miller, who has been overlooked by the regional selectors since last April's ICC World Cup in India, claimed six for 33 on the final day to help bowl out the visitors for 152 in their second innings.
Set 65 to win, Jamaica achieved their target at 66 for five shortly after the luncheon interval.
Miller's haul followed up his two for 34 in the first innings and earned him his fourth Man-of-the-Match award in six matches.
no smooth sailing
He also moved to 46 wickets this season, the same as Windward Islands' off-spinner Shane Shilling-ford, with whom he shares the leading wicket-taker spot.
"It's always good to win. It was not smooth sailing all around as we only played well in patches and were not consistent.
"But we did enough in both innings to claim the victory and our sights are now set on the semi-finals."
Starting the day on 92 for four for a six-run lead, the CCC never got the kind of start that they wanted and in the end lost their remaining wickets for 60 runs.
Wicketkeeper, Jamaican Chadwick Walton with a shot-filled 30, which included a six and four fours, top-scored for CCC with 30.
Their other specialist batsmen, captain Kyle Corbin, Floyd Reifer and Raymon Reifer fell for one, one and nine, respectively, as Miller and debutant off-spinner, Jamie Merchant, went to work on the bouncy and turning track.
Merchant, who took two for five in the first innings, finished with five wickets in the match after claiming three for 36.
Jamaica, in their victory chase, were not smooth, but, with the small target the result, was never in doubt.
Brenton Parchment made a topscore of 22, while his opening partner debutant Zeniffe Fowler, went for nought. Andre McCarthy, 16, and stand-in captain David Bernard Jr, nought, were the other batsmen to be dismissed.
Part-time off-spinner, Barbadian Nikoli Parris, three for 15 and leg-spinner, Jamaican Akeem Dewar, two for 24, claimed the wickets for the visitors.
"We fell behind the eight-ball with a below par score in the first innings and that really pushed us back," said CCC captain Kyle Corbin. "We were then hoping for a better revival in the second innings, but things did not go our way."
Jamaica will will face Trinidad and Tobago in the semi-finals next weekend at the same venue. The other semi-finals will see Regional Super50 champions the Windwards hosting Barbados.
