DESPITE HISTORIC controversy with the gay community, 50 Cent is scheduled to perform at a special concert raising awareness about the rights of LGBT people.
The New York rapper has signed up for the Home for the Holidays benefit gig, now in its fourth year after being founded by pop icon Cyndi Lauper.
The show raises money for her True Colors Fund that helps young gay and homeless people.
Joining 50 Cent are Sufjan Stevens, Salt-N-Pepa and Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines. TV star Laverne Cox from Orange Is The New Black will co-host alongside Rosie O’Donnell.
In a statement, Lauper said: “"For the fourth year in a row, Home for the Holidays will feature an amazing night of performances in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth experiencing homelessness.
