A stolen dog that was the subject of a nationwide media campaign backed by celebrities was finally reunited with her owner.
She was beloved backstage at many West End theatres as John took her wherever he went, and actors, dancers and front-of-house staff helped spread the word of the appeal on social media.
After the Tottenham Journal broke the story last week, the appeal was picked up by the Evening Standard, the Independent and London Live.
And on Saturday morning, John was called out of the blue and given a phone number to ring.“I called up and this obviously young lad answered and said, ‘I have got your dog and I saw the Morrisons poster offering the reward,’” said John.
“He wanted me to come to a house to meet him, but we arranged to meet at Bounds Green Tube station. I called him when I got there and this young lad and a woman appeared across the road with this little dog and I knew immediately that it was Minnie.
“She came straight over to me and was wagging her little bottom. She looked a bit thinner, but she seemed to be fine, if a little subdued.
“The woman repeated the story that they had found her in the street, wandering around without collar on.”
