It is the local debut of Jamaican writer and director Keiran King. It features Maurice Bryan, Rishille Bellamy, Sakina Deer, Shayne Powell and Andrew Lawrence. Choreography is by Paula Shaw with musical arrangement by Karen Armstrong. As befitting the era, Last Call also features a live seven-piece orchestra.
It is June 1949 in Kingston — the affluent heart of British Jamaica and 10 years ago, four best friends going their separate ways made a vow to meet in the hotel lobby on this day.
The musical centres around four friends — Cecil, the risk-averse playboy; Joseph, the lovelorn everyman; Daphne, the sexy lounge singer and Rose, the bubbly stewardess — who seek to find out what life has been like for each other, 10 years later.
