It's finally here and after much anticipation, Who's Who in Jamaica Business, an annual business-to-business publication outlining companies and business leaders locally regionally and internationally, has hit bullseye. Cleverly crafted, classy, and with attention to detail, the inaugural copy has been creating quite a buzz in business circles.
A kind of a directory in a magazine format, it provides Jamaica's business community with an outlet through which they can showcase who they are and what they do. The aim is to expose companies and business leaders to prospective customers, other business organisations and corporate managers.
According to Din Duggan, co-publisher, of Who's Who in Jamaica Business and co-founder of Cousins Publishing, the publication will be the premier business product in Jamaica and a formidable player in the Jamaican and Caribbean business landscape.
"It is not a traditional magazine but encapsulates the best of business in Jamaica. Company insertions are separated by industry, with each industry section featuring a lead-in article that highlights pertinent matters, challenges and opportunities in each sector," Duggan said.
The magazine will maintain a high-impact circulation of over 10,000 units, consisting of top corporations, their leaders, clients, and suppliers, as well as government agencies, foreign embassies and high commissions, Jamaican embassies and consulates abroad, development agencies, and non-government organisations, providing organisations with critical domestic and international exposure and recognition.
"The publication seeks to aid investors in identifying key players here in Jamaica. We have received tremendous responses from the business community and they are actually quite surprised we didn't come on the business landscape before," said Paul Lewis, co-publisher.
MANAGEMENT TEAM
The management team consists of Duggan, who is a legal recruiting consultant; Paul Lewis, vice-president and a member of the board of directors of the Jamaica Exporters' Association; Richard Lewis, chairman of Carreras Limited and chief executive officer of Label House, Trinidad, and the Caribbean's largest packaging design, label and display company, and publisher of Who's Who in Trinidad and Tobago Business.
The invitation-only official launch of the publication is scheduled for early September. "Who's Who in Jamaica is positioned to be a promotional tool for Jamaica. All sectors will be represented at the launch," Duggan said.
The interactive website is also set to be launched six weeks after the print version and is scheduled to be linked with the clients' website.
