Phillip Paulwell, the leader of government business in the House of Representatives, told The Gleaner yesterday that members of the House will join senators in hailing the departed anti-apartheid leader.
Paulwell said the tributes would take place one day after Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller returns from South Africa, where she will join world leaders at a memorial service for Mandela.
Widely regarded as the founding father of modern South Africa, Mandela died late on Thursday at the age of 95.
South African President Jacob Zuma has announced a 10-day mourning period for Mandela, whose body will lie in state in Pretoria for three days, before he receives a state burial on December 15 in his boyhood home of Qunu.
