Lots of people are sufferers of backache, without being able to state a reason for it. Pain, tenderness and stiffness in the back can be the symptom of a number of different diseases.
In some cases an early symptom of small pox is severe aching in the back and also a certain amount of backache in fevers. People with meningitis or brain fever that gets any type of pressure on the joints results in tenderness and pain, which is accompanied by stiffness and pain in the back of the neck.
People who suffer from rheumatism, chronic or acute they might get lots of pain and stiffness in the back. Pain in the back near the level of the waist is very often due to spine disease, and also if the person is having kidney problems.
A very common disease that causes backache is lumbago which is made worse by stooping. In women pain in the back is common and is divided into two categories. In a number of cases something is wrong with the reproductive organs, which can result in pain in the lower bache and can be corrected by having surgery.
There are however many women sufferers with pain in the lower back who do not have any form of diseases and who are otherwise perfectly well. It worsens if the women are tired and before and during any courses. Getting plenty rest is the only way of relieving such pains but it does not cure it. Many of these backaches are due to weakness of the muscles of the back which is sometimes due to insufficient exercise.
A more sensible approach is being taken with the upbringing of young girls, and there is no doubt that their health has improved as a result. When women use to wear extremely tight corsets and clothes which hang from the waist instead of their shoulders, it not only gave them a deformed shape but also swooning and backache was fashionable.
Young women should be made to take exercise classes and get sufficient rest, and anything in the nature of tight lacing should be avoided. Constipation and muscular overstrains, neural-gia, hysteria and anaemia are among the many causes of backaches. For this complaint to be treated the person would be ask to undergo a medical examination to find out the real cause of the pain.
Fidgeting: When A Child Fidgets
Fidgets is used as a description when a child is restless and jumpy, cannot sit still even when given a proper telling off. It is always a sign that the child is in a nervous state and the condition worsens if the child become over-tired.
These nervous children are of the more intelligent type and a little extra care may be required to deal with the condition. If you should scold the child it will only increase the state of nervousness, thus resulting in more restless behaviour.
The parents should take a more thoughtful approach and study the situation. Diet, proper clothing, fresh air, exercise, and sound sleep is good in the treatment of this condition. A common type of fidgeting is the twitching of the muscles which usually begins as a form of nervousness, and later develops into a habit. In older people when they fidget its a sign of overtiredness.
