Most Jamaican women have curves, and fortunately, most are proud to show them off. But we often think that the only way to highlight them is to wear figure-hugging clothes. Not so. Try garments that just skim, or that teasingly highlight your curves
This week we dress a plus-size model in different styles to demonstrate looks that will definitely show her curves.
LOOK 1 : Form-fitting, not body-hugging, dress. The simplest way to show curves is to get close to them; but this dress just skims over the curves instead of clinging to them.
LOOK 2: One of the last things we consider is a loose garment. This dress is loose, but by using a very light fabric that falls close to the body, there is no bulk even though it creates gathers. By cinching the waist with a belt, there is emphasis on the small waist and full bust and hips — definitely creating the hour-glass silhouette.
LOOK 3: Although the cut of this dress is straight, there is no way it hides the curves beneath. And without showing it all, it is a very sophisticated look for the curvy woman.
STEPS:
Sheath
1. Cut lengths for front and back of dress and bust facing.
2. Join the facing to the front and back pieces and the neckline and armhole of each.
3. Join front to back at the sides (of dress and facing) and shoulders.
4. Finish seam edges.
5. Hem.
