Jay-Z and MLB is nearly official.
The MLB Players Association announced Friday they had officially received Jay-Z's petition for certification as an MLB agent. This comes a week after Mr. Carter announced a strategic partnership between Roc Nation Sports and CAA, with Yankees star 2B Robinson Cano as their first client.
For the moment, Cano's official agent is CAA's Brodie Van Wagenen, but if the MLBPA certifies Jay, he can begin representing athletes himself.
With Jay-Z already looking to rid himself of his Brooklyn Nets stake, and after getting a lot off his chest with "Open Letter," this may be the first of many certifications for Jigga Man.
