Hollywood actor Brando Eaton, new innovation Supermodel City Lockdown and a record number of designers, including American celebrity designer Cezar Galindo, are just some of the exciting attractions for the 2013 staging of Styleweek Jamaica. The Valencia D room at the Spanish Court Hotel was the chosen venue for last Thursday's launch as sponsors, media members, designers, models, socialites and fashionistas converged for the unveiling of the Styleweek Jamaica plans. The stylish launch was held in a room akin to a world-class fashion gallery, all-white backdrop with life-size photos of Saint's many international stars. Sponsor speeches aside, the event captivated with teasers from designers, including Kaydian Nicely, Nina, TNT Fashions, Debra Lee Jarrett, Balla Sean, and Karl Brown.May 22-26, Styleweek Jamaica, rolls out across city Kingston, incorporating more venues and innovations. On Wednesday, May 22, Fiction lounge will kick-start the style invasion with a special Styleweek Jamaica edition of BMN.
May 23 will feature a private VIP reception for Hollywood actor Brando Eaton.
Three hotspots
On May 24, for the Supermodel City lockdown, three hotspots across Kingston will be used as on-schedule show venues featuring three designers each. A touring 'bus-party' with media members, top models and socialites will be 'party-hopping' from venue to venue. Venues include South Beach Café, Mahogany Tree Bar at Devon House, and Fiction.
May 25, Mecca Citystyle sees the fusion of International Mecca Of Style and Citystyle Downtown at the UDC car-park. The all-white dress code stands, but the general public will have a chance to purchase limited tickets at $3,500 and (VIP $5,000).
On May 26, Styleweek Jamaica reaches a crescendo when Knutsford Boulevard is transformed into glamour central for Fashionblock, The Caribbean's biggest live fashion event.
